Summary
FeedbackFlow is a local-first browser extension for collecting and organizing website feedback. It does not send data to a FeedbackFlow-operated server, and it does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Feedback is saved in Chrome extension storage on your device. If you choose to send an item to Trello, that item and its attachments are sent directly to Trello using your Trello credentials.
Information handled
When you choose a capture action, FeedbackFlow can store information needed to create a feedback item, including:
- a screenshot you capture or annotate;
- text you select, or information about a page element you choose;
- the issue title and notes you enter, plus tags and due dates you add to organize an item;
- the source page URL and title, viewport dimensions, project, status, priority, and category;
- unfinished capture drafts and the project preference you choose for a website.
If you connect Trello, the Trello API key and token you provide are kept in Chrome session storage for the current browser session. FeedbackFlow does not collect page content before you invoke a capture action.
This information may contain personal or sensitive content visible on a page. Only capture content you are permitted to collect and share.
Where information is stored and why
Feedback items, drafts, projects, settings, and site-to-project preferences are stored locally using Chrome extension storage. They are used to provide capture, organization, recovery, backup, and report features. FeedbackFlow does not operate a service that receives or retains this information.
You can remove individual feedback items or projects in the dashboard, or remove FeedbackFlow and its extension data from Chrome. You can export a backup from the dashboard. Exported files are saved wherever your browser normally saves downloads, outside FeedbackFlow's control.
Optional Trello integration
Trello is optional. If you connect it, the Trello API key and token are kept in Chrome's session storage for the current browser session. FeedbackFlow sends requests to Trello to load your available boards and lists. When you explicitly choose Create card in Trello, FeedbackFlow sends the selected item's title, notes, priority, status, category, page context, and captured text to Trello. If the item includes a screenshot, FeedbackFlow also uploads it as a card attachment. Requests go directly from the extension to Trello over HTTPS; FeedbackFlow does not receive a copy. Trello handles this information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Disconnecting Trello removes the saved credentials from the current browser session. You can also revoke the Trello token through your Trello account. Do not connect Trello on a shared or untrusted browser profile.
Sharing and sale
FeedbackFlow does not sell user data or share it with advertisers. It does not transmit feedback to a FeedbackFlow server. The only external transfer described here is the optional, user-initiated Trello action.
FeedbackFlow uses information received from Chrome APIs only to provide its disclosed capture and feedback-organization features, in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Security and retention
Local data remains in Chrome extension storage until you delete it or remove the extension. Trello credentials and API requests are handled by the browser and Trello; Trello's own retention and security practices apply after a card is created. No data is retained by a FeedbackFlow backend because no such backend is used.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the extension's behavior changes. The latest version is available on this page.
